Engineering Manager - Site Reliability

We are now looking for an Engineering Manager for our Site Reliability team to join #teamgreen. This role can be based from our Manchester HQ or remotely across UK or Ireland. Matillion Engineering Managers own accountability for a significant development initiative. They are responsible for the curation and development of a number of cross-skilled, multi-discipline squads with no fewer than 10 direct reports. The Site Reliability Engineering Manager has an extensive Site Reliability Engineering background but has responsibility for the smooth running of a team and focuses on the coaching and development of its individual members through resonant 121s, QDDs and the Matillion Performance Management process. This is a people-first role and whilst the overall success of a given initiative lies with this role, it will be achieved through the management of people and not hands-on execution. The Site Reliability Engineering Manager will take on the responsibility for managing globally distributed Site Reliability Engineers. They will work with a Director of Technical Operation and Product Managers to identify long-term strategies and curate a suitable engineering team. They will take ownership of the reliability, observability and monitoring of Matillion's services. They will lead engineers in building systems and processes to deliver highly available infrastructure, Observability and monitoring systems, production readiness review, incident management and overall production robustness, reliability and cost effectiveness.
